Early on a 323 Pearson owner figured out a way to open up the main salon by pinning the table near the ceiling at the top of the pole.
That makes the third position for the table. First it drops down and becomes part of the bunk. Then it moves upward to be a table. Finally, you slide it up the pole, and hold it in place with a clevis pin in a hole through the supporting pipe. If you don't have the third position, simply raise the table up to the ceiling, drill a 5/16" hole and insert the 5/16" clevis pin. I spray the pole with Silicone spray to make the table slide more easily, and I got a longer set screw and tapped the PVC spacer so that the set screw no longer pushes the grey spacer against the pole making it bind. This simple adjustment opens up the main salon in an amazing way.
