My 34 year old Bosch starter will not turn the Volvo MD11C engine. Both batteries are not a year old yet and are fully charged. It will start the engine when both batteries are applied. A buddy of mine said I have a "flat spot" in the starter motor.
Pulling the old starter was a snap, 2 19mm bolts, 1 10mm nut on the solenoid, done
Bought a new one from Amazon for $340.

Been in the water since May 10th so far:
Short haul out to replace exploded cutless bearing. $$$$
Replaced the Jabsco Par fresh water pump $$
New starter $$
Still cheaper than paying for 3 weeks on Nantucket & MV in July
