Title: To Good To Be True 10/31/2013
Post by: Frayed Knot on October 31, 2013, 05:48:55 PM
I ordered a few things from marinepartdepot.com and today was the last day of the sale.  Stuff was  really cheep.  After I ordered, I read good and bad review's.  Anyone had any dealings with them?

Received my parts Monday the 5th.  Everything was there, now they are not the best but we didn't pay for the best.  I would buy from them again and the prices were good.  We will have to see how they hold up...

There are some items where cheap makes no difference I suppose and I am not one to talk having invested $75k (and counting) in a $25 k boat but an old sailor gave me some advice long ago: "buy it once".  Just me but if it's metal made in China it scares me. Fwiw

Stay away from Chinese  shackles!  I am sure the other stuff is crap too.

I've bought some parts from them and they have held up well. I wouldn't bet the boat on any of their shackles either. But I have used their tiny shackles on the tack of my furler- There's not much load there. They're good for interior decorative SS hardware.
