Title: Sail to winter layup
Post by: Alma on October 31, 2014, 01:37:18 PM
We sailed ALMA from Cape May to New Gretna (VIKING Yachts home on the Bass River) for winter storage at Allan's Dock last weekend.

We had a great sail both days with perfect conditions!

Now the winter projects start!

Kept my boat on the Navesink for years, and my last season in Jersey, 1995, in Barnegat Light. So nice to sail into November. Boat out in Michigan, snow here on Halloween. Enjoy.

I've always wanted to sail in the Great Lakes.

Gotta tell you, a lot easier on the boat.

Sailed on 10 foot ocean, and not an issue. 4 foot Lake Michigan can beat you to death.  Frequency of the waves. Fresh water better.
