Hello all,
My name is Edith Collins and I am at Lake Lanier, GA.  We just purchased hull #203 and brought her up from St. Pete.  We will be re-christening her as Encontrado. My Uncle had one of the original Triton's on Perdido Bay, AL and we are naming our Pearson after his boat.  Our boat will eventually end up on Perdido Bay as well.
I have a Santana 20 which my Husband and I have raced since 1985 and I am a US Sailing Judge.  This "big boat" thing is very new and definitely intimidating. The previous owners took amazing care of her, so there are not too many "projects".
Forgive my stupid questions in advance.

Welcome to the forum.  People here are happy to help, no matter what the question, so never be afraid to ask. 
We were all new to the boat once.
In my opinion, the only stupid question is one that goes unasked! ;)

Welcome as well.
You made an excellent choice with the P323, I have had hull #174 in the water here in Boston Ma for 34 seasons.
Don't worry about the big boat thing, the P323 sails like a dingy.
I also have a Catalina 14.2 Capri, actually harder to sail

Hello Edith.

I too raced a Santana 20, all through the 80's.  Purchased a Pearson 323 (#344), Zufrieden, in 1992, then promptly moved her from Wrightsville Beach, NC to Lake Lanier.  Zufrieden is now exploring Lake Superior, out of Grand Marais, MN.  It's a short, but wonderful season.

Enjoy the boat.   I too think it's a fine choice.

Hello Edith,

This is a great sight and the members have a wealth of knowledge about the 323.  I have hull #89 and when I purchased the boat it was a bit overwhelming.  As I recall one member said it was like eating an elephant, you can do it but one bite at a time.  I have had mine, four years now and I am still eating.  But I am getting close to finishing the meal.  Everyone here is very helpful.  Have a nice dinner.
