Title: Icebox Insulation

Afraid not.  My priority has been things I absolutely have to have done before we go south this Fall, down the ICW and over to the Bahamas, and upgrading the ports isn't one of them!

Currently working on adding insulation to the icebox/refer from the inside.  Yeah, I'll lose volume, but I already lose half the capacity because its so poor, I still have to use ice to keep foods from spoiling.  And it sucks power.

Check out this stuff.  Aerogel is now available at a reasonable price.
Super thin, there is a blog where the entire ice box was made of Aerogel.

Standard ice box. Adler Barbour system. Vacuumed out system. Put in enough coolant to register five pounds on the gauge. In 90 degree Michigan I have slushy beer. I suggest getting a good hvac guy to do the work. I do all the refrigeration in the marina as a favor. I work for slushy beer. Last week did one where ice box is registering minus four in the evaporator. All in the set up.
