Title: Battery Charger
Post by: Capn Kirk on June 29, 2019, 02:13:58 PM
Well...discovered that the battery charger was not working last night when I went to flush the head!!!!  No juice (so to speak).  I have a 4 battery/4 bank system in the engine room.  The old charger was a 3 bank 30 Amp charger that required two of the batteries to be in parallel.  Don't see another reason for them to stay in parallel unless someone can tell me otherwise.  Want to get a MinnKota 4 bank 40 Amp charger.  Any thoughts?  Money is an object as, if it were not, I would get one that had some kind of display unit I could have in the salon.  Any ideas for me?

If this is solely a house bank and you have a separate battery to start your engine I would parallel all four. The batteries will last longer if they are not cycled as deeply.
