Engine and Drive Train / Repowering a Pearson 323

Is there anyone who can tell me their experience repowering with a Beta? What size, what issues  encountered. Access to regular maintenance items eg
Water pump impellers- Do you have to change them from the cockpit locker as a possible issue.
Would love to speak with those who have repowered and their experience. Contact info would be great.

I changed to rope many years ago. didn't change the sheeves. Now using 3/8 as the newer (boat 1977) line is stronger. Have had no problems.

Ports & Hatches / Replacement for deck hatches

I looked up the original hatches thanks to the board. Bomar replacements are on the pricey side. Has anyone found a hatch which will drop into the existing hole for the forward hatch made by anyone else ? Hinge was broken off of my original and of course part of the casting.
