Craig.  If you are somewhere on Muskegon Lake I am sure we can work out something.  The insight is lauri docks where I drive by to get to my boat. But I would be glad to email the art work to anyone interested. I use the local Fast Signs for printing. They are a franchise so there should be one near you.

Lauri . . I have the logo in a file form and have had them made at a place in Grand Rapids . . if you like I can have a couple made and drop them by your boat . . .

Deck Mounted Hardware / Autopilot Compass location
« on: February 18, 2012, 11:42:38 AM »
When I purchased my P323 she did not have an autopilot system on board . .This spring I intend on installing one  . . My question is on other P323 where have the installers placed the fluxgate compass module?? I know that Raymarine suggests in the center of the boat both length and width wise . .but . .What is a practical location . . Thanks In Advance  . . Wayne

I purchased my 323 last spring after she had set on the hard for some 16 years . .I gradually am working through the items that needed attention . .before launch I dealt with things like polish of gel coat . .bottom painting . .replacing the stuffing box log . .rewiring gauges . .starting the engine . .checking all petcocks . .and then after the launch the list kept going . .and going . .I have only added a few hundred dollars in parts and pieces but the invested labor has amounted to a bit . .perhaps too much the DIYer . .but I am getting a boat that was used very little and cheap enough that I can add labor to and feel good about it . .

If you intend on doing repairs yourself I might suggest looking at the writings of Don Casey . .he has many good books written to the older boat owner and DIYers . .

General Discussion / Re: Looking to Purchse a P 323
« on: September 16, 2011, 04:53:46 PM »
I don't claim to be an expert on boats or the like .  . .but here is my experience . .this spring I purchased a P323 in Muskegon that had set on the hard for some 16 years . .a year ago the asking price was like that of the boat you are investigating in Chicago . .then it was discounted to "get it sold" I paid  $Xk . . The boat was in better shape than what I would define as a project boat and yet it has taken alot of work since spring to bring the boat back to most of its former glory . .Unfortunately in Michigan there are many many boats available in most price ranges . .and with the temperature hitting 31 degrees last night I suspect that the prices on local boats may well dip further . . I feel fortunate to have been able to take advantage of the great value I came across . .I enjoy being able to put sweat equity into something . .but not all folks can afford that kind of time . .from what I am visioning of the Chicago boat it is in roughly the same condition as I started with and so with that in mind I would feel that the value of the boat should be more in line with the price as well . .
